Diwali- Festival , Its origin and importance

Diwali is one of the most iconic festival of India , celebrated for 5 days. The name Dipawali originates from row(avali) of clay lamps(Deepa). Indians light outside their home to protect their home and family from spiritual darkness. On that day people also celebrate Kali puja.

Over a long period of time, it became a national festival of India , both Hindu and non-Hindu communities celebrate Diwali.

There are different stories behind its origin across India. In North India people celebrate the story of Lord Rama after he defeated Ravana by lighting the lamps. In South India people celebrate Diwali as Lord Krishna defeated Narakasur. In western India people celebrate this Diwali  festival as Lord Bishnu sent Bali to Hell.
